An EKG cannot measure electrical fields from neurons that are surrounded by contracting muscle. The muscle potentials are 3 orders of magnitude bigger, and dwarf any neuronal contribution.

Implication: you are only directly measuring the electrical activity of the heart muscle, not the nerves.
